Devblog #39

Oops, kinda forgot to post it yesterday, so here's a slightly late devblog.

Another week, another devblog. I am glad to report, that so far, the progress have been steady. I wrote the fourth Katelyn's event, which prompted Shady Character Two to say "Everyone's gonna love her". Hopefully, that's what is going to happen. Her sprite is almost ready too, just a few small things here and there, oh, and a couple more poses. But those come relatively quick once the main sprite is done. Once it is complete, I will need to put it in all of her events. Speaking of which, I also need to populate the rest of new girl-events with their respective sprites. I will probably be able to finish the rest of mandatory events in the upcoming week, and then I will turn to putting the sprites in and to translation.

I also finally made myself return to writing random events (most of the non-plot events that I wrote recently were semi-random or just side-activity events). And I decided to start with an event that would feature a recurring character that was left on the bench all this time. Rosie, the White Ghost. Rosie is not a good girl, those of you who had a pleasure of meeting her already, might've noticed that already. Ghosts are not a good bunch as a rule. Even the most friendly ones are generally dangerous and unpredictable. But Rosie makes it her unlife's goal to make as many trusting kids suffer as she possibly can. I plan to have three or four unconnected events featuring her, and now we have two.

I don't really want to overdo it with ghost action, so not all of the ghost will be getting equal treatment or screen time. There are three ghosts that live in Tir na nOg. The aforementioned "Rosie, the White Ghost", "Not-Professor Hickinbottom", and "Brickface Billy". Well, four if you count Bran the ghost dog. Every one of those aside from Rosie, only gets an episodic appearance of just a mention, and that's where I am thinking on leaving it for now. You can expect some more events coming for Rosie though.

That's it for this weeks devblog though. I'll see you in the next one.
