Friday Devblog #15


Still being out of town and out of my usual element, I almost forgot to write this weeks blog entry too. By only just "almost". So here I am, ready to share the news on the game development.

The most interesting part of the last two weeks' development was, of course, the arrival of two last music tracks that we consider a "necessary core" for our soundtrack. These two brought us to the total of six tracks, which we will build upwards from. But with these six tracks completed, I started to put the music into the game, and that, honestly took the most of my free time this past week.

I was actually really scared when I first started working with the soundtrack for the game, since it felt like nothing fits, and everything is just that tad off from what I wanted it to be. But playing the test build with music playing over it felt really nice. Not in the least because of the awesome music tracks that our composer wrote for us.

We are still deliberating with Shady Character Two if we should include the music in the next small update next Monday, or if we should wait, and roll it out with the big update that will be coming in the beginning of December. Yes, the big update that will include 12 new girl events (including two new girls with 4 events each), several more plot events, and simply extending the playtime till the end of November, is just around the corner.

Aside from that, I only really had time to work on a few minor events for the next small update, as well as fixing small things here and there. I still have a few days before the update, so I will see what else I can cram in there while working on the preparation for the December. I still need to translate all the events I wrote along with actually testing them with sprites, triggers and music.

Shady Two meanwhile is busy working of completing the remaining sprites for secondary characters in the game, and preparing artworks for the big update. Don't really have anything to share with you on the art side. But, well, what can you do? You can't win em all.
