Shady Character Two here.
As I am slowly starting to work on another girl from Cairngorm you haven't met yet, I am wondering who is the most popular girl so far?
To be honest, I've never had to work with such a big cast of characters in general, and definitely had no need to create 11 different girls of around the same age.
Honestly, it doesn't sound too hard until you start making them. All of them wearing uniforms and having natural hair color doesn't help much in terms of creating some incredibly unique designs.
So how does one create 11 different girls and stay sane?
I really didn't want them to look like the same person with different hair and it was our intention that they all have to have various body shape, eyes and even brows shape, and the last but not least - different body language.
The basic must-have for every character's sprite is that they should all have a unique silhouette, which is composed of:
- one original pose with which you will associate a girl (a daring arms akimbo Aisling or timid and composed Lily)
- a height/body shape (taller athletic Gwen and tiny fragile Violet)
- and unique hair (I suppose this needs no explanation, doesn't it)
I wonder if you noticed that their skirts are of different length! Of their preferred one, of course ;)
After all this is set, we're starting working inwards - eyes shape, because as we all know, eyes is the mirror of the soul. That's why we have huge round eyes for Lily and more stern and triangular eyes for Gwen, with brows complementing their particular look.
Since we chose their general color combinations in the beginning, we knew from the start how many blondes, brunettes and redheads we have. So choosing the specific colors was the last step, the only problem here is that skin color should go well with hair color, so the particular tone is chosen carefully - for example we spent a couple of good evenings recoloring Gwen and Katelyn, going with lighter or darker tones.
We still have some characters to introduce, so I will probably return to this topic some time later.

My list of favorites, as if MC is me:
1.Aisling - sportive, shameless, charismatic, has some goals in mind, and i like her design.
2.Gwen - sportive, but a little less charming then Aisling. However, like Elizabeth she has ambitious plan for life. Since it's sport, she doesn't need univercity knowledge.
3.Elizabeth- i was surprised that people in this universe usually don't go to univercity-tier education. As the result Elizabrth's goals seems ambitios, she has a plan for life. And as a person who finished univercity i do respect high education.
4.Ciara - very passionate girl, i like it. Unfortunately, it seems she isn't smart.
5.Girl from baths - yes, probably, she should not be in the list, but it would be pleasure to intercept/steal the girl from that guy. Plus she is good-looking and adventurous.
6.Maeve, the mascot fairy queen - who woudn't want to romance actual fey in the fantasy world? Yes, she is very young, but what do we know about fairy queens? She is very developed physically, and probably, mentally to be count as the adult. Unfortunatly, we don't bump into her quite often.
7.Rosie, the evil prankster ghost - can we rizz the Undead? Or the spell we under influences only the living? She is fun.
8.Sport teacher - the same reason as the girl in the baths, exept she is older and we are competting with the enchantment teacher (woudn't see good grades from him). But she is sportive and supportive - even teaches us the teleportation spell.
9.Lily - yes, attractive, charming, invokes desire to protect her, help her, but not everyone likes shy girls, right?
10. Violet - perhaps, one day she would go to the univercity, but she lacks Elizabeth's burning ambition to go there. She follows her parents, goes with the flow, somehow, i didn't notice the desire to lift the curse. Perhaps she would be more intresting for me later.
There are some other girls, like Basset or girls MC is broom racing with, but for now they are lower in my tier-list, i dont have opinion on them (to small influence or didn't meet them yet).
Just retreading old ground by saying this, but Elizabeth and Lily have always been my favorites, was smitten with both of them from pretty much the getgo both appearance and personality wise. That being said, each and every one of the girls so far is more than worth pursuing in their own right, it still pains me a bit whenever I have to choose between Elizabeth and Violet on a Knowledge run.
It never ceases to amaze me how much personality you can get across with their silhouettes alone Shady 2, which is only elevated further by Shady 1's character writing and your artistic talent. Always a pleasure to have another glance behind the scenes, hope the day's treating you well.
